A recent study was carried out of 1,021 office and 521 IT
decision-makers in a variety of small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and
large enterprises, to find out what important issues businesses are focussing
on over the next 3 years.1
Interestingly, 71% of the respondents said ‘environmental issues and sustainability will be important or extremely important to their business by 2025’, while around two thirds (66%) of those interviewed said that ‘it is extremely or very important for a print supplier to be a leader in sustainability’.
The research also showed that while sustainability is a
major decision-making factor, it was still vital to focus on keeping costs
down, making revenue, keeping their customers satisfied and improving business
efficiency.
Therefore, print suppliers must take all the priorities into account and demonstrate how their sustainable practices and products can help organisations achieve their goals.
Already ahead of the curve
PCL Direct Group has been remanufacturing OEM toners, drums,
fusers, developers and transfer belt units for over 10 years and feel they are already
ahead of the curve. Sales and Marketing Director, Andrew Ellis said: "The
market is moving in our direction, and we want to lead it to the next level.”
Eco-Direct, part of the PCL-Direct Group, specialises in the
renovation of photocopiers and multi-functional models that have either been
superseded, by new models, or are simply unwanted or used, and purchased by
Eco-Direct from dealers and resellers of workplace print equipment.
The dealers and resellers benefit as do their customers.
What is more important is that the environment benefits, too, because the
machines are fully upcycled and given a brand-new lease of life.
They can be released back into the market, up to date and professionally
restored, and available at competitive prices with 6 months warranty. Everyone
wins and all the areas of focus are achieved.
Upcycling
and the Circular Economy
Upcycling is a form of recycling where instead of turning
waste into new materials, a product that you would otherwise throw away, is
fully restored, labelled and given a new purpose in life.
At Eco-Direct, we take parts from used or unwanted machines,
that are in excellent working order and create a product that looks brand new.
The difference is that it’s much more cost-effective to
carry out as all the component parts are already made. Only OEM remanufactured toners
are used, as well, to add to the authenticity, cost-effectiveness, environmental
standards and reliability of the upcycled machines.
How does
Eco-Direct achieve customers’ goals
Eco-Direct offers full flexibility for the dealers and
resellers, from the outset.
Rather than rigidly sticking to a fixed price per machine,
Eco-Direct offers flexibility, purchasing the old machines at a price that
takes into account the number of machines being sold, the meter counts on each one and, because Eco-Direct collects machines –
usually making one trip to take in a specific region to help reduce carbon
footprint – the location is also considered. The only real proviso is that the
machines need to be in a good condition and able to make a colour print.
The Eco-Direct team comprises people who have plenty of
industry experience, having worked within manufacturers and dealerships so they
all have a full understanding of what is important to the Dealer and their
customers.
Now is an especially difficult time for businesses who,
while trying to save money, desperately need to make sure their equipment can
keep up with them as they go through digital transformation to the cloud, VoIP,
new data security measures and GDPR regulations.
Everything has to fit neatly and reliably onto a network but
not cost the earth – literally and metaphorically. PCL-Direct and Eco-Direct
have the products and vision to help achieve this.
